About the role
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to provide installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical support for high-value industrial equipment across customer sites. This role serves as the technical escalation point for complex service issues, supports junior engineers through coaching, and works closely with regional and global teams to deliver outstanding customer service. The position requires frequent travel (60-70%) and strong customer-facing capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and validate industrial equipment at customer sites to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain complex electromechanical systems.
- Resolve escalated technical issues and coordinate with regional and global technical support teams.
- Perform preventive maintenance and system calibration to maximize equipment reliability.
- Deliver technical training to customers on equipment operation and maintenance.
- Mentor and support junior Field Service Engineers, sharing technical knowledge and best practices.
- Prepare service reports, technical documentation, and case studies in a timely manner.
- Manage service tools, spare parts inventory, and company assets.
- Support the implementation of service process improvements and technical updates.
- Collaborate with internal teams to optimize service scheduling and resource allocation.
Ideal Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
- 3-5+ years of experience servicing high-value capital equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and fault diagnosis skills for electromechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and circuit diagrams.
- Experience with system calibration, process optimization, pneumatic systems, temperature control, and PLC-controlled equipment (programming not required).
- Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Office and service management software.
- Good written and spoken English communication skills.
- Customer-focused, proactive, and able to work independently under pressure.
- Willingness to travel extensively (approximately 60-70%) to customer sites.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and cross-cultural collaboration skills.
