Position Summary

We are seeking a
Senior IBM API Connect (APIC) & DataPower Developer
to design, develop, and support enterprise API and integration platforms within a large-scale financial technology environment. This role is responsible for building secure, scalable API solutions using IBM API Connect, IBM DataPower, OpenShift, AWS, and modern DevSecOps practices while supporting mission-critical enterprise integrations across cloud and on-premise systems.

The ideal candidate brings deep IBM APIC and DataPower expertise, enterprise integration architecture experience, strong API security knowledge, and the ability to lead complex integration initiatives while mentoring development teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise API and integration solutions using IBM API Connect (APIC) and IBM DataPower

• Configure and support Multi-Protocol Gateway (MPGW), Web Service Proxy (WSP), XML Firewall, and B2B integration services

• Design and implement secure REST and SOAP APIs with enterprise API lifecycle management and governance

• Configure OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), JWT, Mutual TLS (mTLS), LDAP integration, SSL/TLS certificates, and API security policies

• Design hybrid-cloud integration solutions connecting AWS, on-premises, and third-party enterprise applications

• Build and maintain API products, catalogs, developer portals, plans, and governance standards

• Develop GatewayScript, XSLT, XPath, XML transformations, and reusable integration components

• Support OpenShift Container Platform (OCP), Kubernetes deployments, and containerized API workloads

• Participate in CI/CD automation, release management, DevSecOps initiatives, and deployment pipelines

• Troubleshoot production incidents, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and optimize API platform performance

• Implement monitoring, logging, analytics, and observability solutions across enterprise API platforms

• Collaborate with Architects, Product Owners, Business Analysts, Infrastructure, Security, and Cloud Engineering teams

• Create technical documentation, architecture diagrams, operational procedures, and design specifications

• Mentor junior developers and establish enterprise API development standards and best practices

• Participate in on-call production support and critical incident resolution

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related technical field

• 8+ years of enterprise software development and systems integration experience

• 5+ years of hands-on IBM API Connect (APIC) and IBM DataPower experience

• Strong expertise with REST APIs, SOAP, JSON, XML, WSDL, XSD, XPath, XSLT, GatewayScript, and EDI

• Experience implementing OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWT, mTLS, LDAP, SSL/TLS, and certificate-based authentication

• Experience with AWS cloud services and hybrid-cloud integration architectures

• Strong experience with OpenShift, Kubernetes, and containerized application deployments

• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar tools

• Experience with production support, performance tuning, monitoring, and root cause analysis

• Experience integrating enterprise applications, Salesforce, payment systems, financial platforms, or external trading partners

• Strong communication, leadership, troubleshooting, and solution architecture skills

• Stable work history within large enterprise organizations

• IBM MQ and enterprise messaging

• Kafka or IBM Event Streams

• Splunk, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, ELK, Grafana, or Prometheus

• AWS S3, VPC, NLB, networking, and cloud security

• APIC Analytics dashboards and reporting

• Financial Services, Banking, Consumer Lending, or Automotive Finance experience

• Knowledge of SOX, PCI, GLBA, or other regulated industry compliance

• Experience leading enterprise integration architecture initiatives

• Experience mentoring technical teams

• 3+ years of Big 4 consulting experience preferred
