Engineering Manager | Food Manufacturing Industry
A leading company within the food manufacturing sector is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and coordinate all engineering and maintenance activities across a high-volume processing site.
This role is responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, site infrastructure performance, and full compliance with food safety, Health & Safety, and operational standards. The successful candidate will oversee preventative and corrective maintenance programmes while working closely with production and technical teams to minimise downtime and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead all engineering and maintenance operations across site
• Manage preventative maintenance and calibration schedules
• Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and H&S regulations
• Coordinate repairs and resolve equipment issues efficiently
• Monitor engineering KPIs and report performance to senior leadership
• Support continuous improvement and operational efficiency projects
• Collaborate with external suppliers and internal stakeholders
Ideal Candidate:
• Previous experience within food manufacturing or a similar regulated environment
• Proven leadership or supervisory experience within engineering/maintenance
• Strong understanding of maintenance systems and quality systems
• Experience with root cause analysis, deviations, training, and documentation practices
• Able to work independently and prioritise workloads effectively
• Strong communication and reporting skills, both written and verbal
• Previous experience within food manufacturing or a similar regulated environment
• Proven leadership or supervisory experience within engineering/maintenance
• Strong understanding of maintenance systems and quality systems
