About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Director, Counsel - Litigation, Legal Policy and Strategy to join the team of a leader in the Pharmaceuticals & Biotech space.

This role will shape litigation and legal policy strategy at a senior level, partnering closely with executive leadership to address high-stakes disputes and evolving regulatory and advocacy priorities. The attorney will serve as a trusted advisor across internal business and legal functions, helping align legal approaches with broader organizational objectives. This position is well suited for a seasoned litigator who can combine courtroom experience, policy judgment, and cross-functional influence in a highly regulated industry.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $166,500 – $244,200 annually

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute litigation and policy strategy for senior leadership
  • Identify and assess new litigation and advocacy opportunities
  • Provide legal counsel on policy priorities and draft necessary documents
  • Manage litigation and disputes from strategy to resolution
  • Oversee outside counsel and manage budgets effectively
  • Engage with governmental and industry stakeholders for legal policy advocacy
  • Build relationships across legal and business functions to foster collaboration

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and J.D. required
  • Active license to practice law in the U.S.
  • Clerkship experience in a federal court of appeals
  • Minimum of 8 years of legal practice experience, ideally at a top law firm or in-house at a global company
  • Proven success in complex litigation at trial and appellate levels
  • Experience with constitutional claims and regulatory challenges
  • Strong client-service orientation and executive presence
