Job Overview
The Senior Commercial Finance Analyst plays a key role in supporting the Commercial Finance team by providing timely, accurate, and insightful financial analysis to drive business performance and decision-making.
The role partners closely with business stakeholders to analyse financial performance, identify key business drivers, support forecasting activities, and provide actionable insights on trends and opportunities impacting profitability and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse financial performance and provide insights to support commercial decision-making and business planning.
- Monitor and analyse key financial drivers, including staff costs, operating expenses, and margin performance, identifying variances between actual results and forecast/budget.
- Highlight business risks, opportunities, and trends with clear recommendations to support senior stakeholders.
- Partner with business teams to develop forecasts, improve financial visibility, and enhance data capture and reporting processes.
- Support month-end closing activities, including accruals, P&L reviews, and variance analysis.
- Provide financial analysis and support for resource planning, including short-, medium-, and long-term workforce requirements.
- Prepare and deliver ad-hoc financial reports, analysis, and insights as required to support business needs.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong experience in commercial finance, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), or a related finance role.
- Proven ability to analyse financial data, identify trends, and translate insights into business recommendations.
- Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, P&L analysis, and variance reporting.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across functions.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in financial systems and Microsoft Excel; experience with reporting and analytics tools is an advantage.
