About This Role
This senior engineering role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable backend systems and services, ensuring robust architecture and high performance. The specialist will work with Golang, Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript, contributing to the development of RESTful APIs and microservices, and providing technical guidance to junior engineers.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable backend systems and services, ensuring robust, maintainable architecture capable of handling high loads
- Write high-quality, efficient, and well-documented code using Go, Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript
- Participate in code reviews and maintain coding standards
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices, ensuring they are well-documented and adhere to best practices
- Identify performance bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve system performance and reliability
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs
- Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning and daily stand-ups
- Provide guidance and support to junior engineers
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the engineering team
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues and bugs
- Implement monitoring and alerting systems to ensure system health
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for backend systems, APIs, and technical processes
- Work with databases to design schemas and optimize performance
- Report to Head of IT on product development progress
- Distribute tasks to team members according to their expertise
- Train in-house personnel and other end users on software and applications
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience in server-side technologies such as Golang, Node.js, Java, or Python (Golang preferred)
- Experience in Database (Postgres, DB2, MYSQL, Oracle, REDIS, MongoDB)
- Knowledge of authentication and authorization mechanisms such as JWT, OAuth
- Experience with version control systems
- Experience with Cloud technology (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, or MS Azure)
- Experience in SDLC and CI/CD
- Experience in Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins
- Good command in English
Nice to have:
- Experience in DevSecOps such as source code scanning tool (e.g., Sonaqube)
