About the role
We are seeking a strong Engineering Manager – Application Security to lead and grow our Application Security organization. In this role, you will directly manage a high-caliber team of 8–9 security professionals—including 3 Security Architects and 3 Application Security Engineers—defining the vision and execution for securing our cloud platform and AI-driven products without sacrificing development velocity.
What You’ll Own (Core Responsibilities)
- People & Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and scale an engineering team of 8–9 direct reports, providing clear architectural guidance, technical direction, and career growth.
- Security Strategy & Vision: Define and execute the end-to-end Application Security strategy across the R&D and product organization.
- Architecture & Governance: Partner with the 3 Security Architects to establish architectural standards, secure design principles, and guardrails for modern AI-powered systems.
- Secure SDLC Program: Drive the evolution of our Secure SDLC, threat modeling, security automation, and code-level vulnerability management.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee platform incident response procedures, vulnerability management programs, and the enterprise Bug Bounty program.
- Security Culture: Lead and expand the Security Champions program across all engineering groups to foster a proactive security culture.
What You’ll Impact
- Scalable Infrastructure: Enable R&D teams to release features securely and rapidly by embedding security guardrails directly into CI/CD workflows.
- AI & Platform Security: Shape the security posture for AI, LLM integrations, and complex agentic architectures.
- Risk Reduction: Measure and systematically reduce application-level risk across the enterprise.
What You Bring (Qualifications)
- People Management: 3+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager, AppSec Manager, or Technical Lead managing direct reports.
- Domain Expertise: 6+ years of technical experience in Application Security, Product Security, or Platform Security.
- Technical Depth: Deep understanding of cloud architectures, APIs, modern IAM, software supply chain security, and coding practices (Python / Java).
- AI/LLM Familiarity: Experience securing AI-native products, LLM workflows, or data pipelines (highly advantageous).
- Leadership & Influence: Ability to build strong partnerships with R&D, Product, and Infrastructure leadership.
