About the role
Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Application Developer to design, develop, and support modern enterprise web applications. This individual will work across front-end and back-end development and collaborate closely with UX/UI, architecture, product, and engineering teams to deliver scalable, cloud-based applications.
The ideal candidate is a strong full-stack engineer with experience in Java, Angular, Python, and cloud technologies who is comfortable working in a modern development environment increasingly leveraging AI and Generative AI capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and support modern enterprise web applications.
- Develop responsive front-end applications using Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Design and develop backend applications and services using Java and related frameworks.
- Utilize Python for application development, integrations, automation, and emerging AI use cases.
- Build and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Develop and deploy applications within modern cloud environments.
- Partner closely with UX/UI teams to translate designs and business requirements into intuitive user experiences.
- Participate in application architecture, technical design, code reviews, testing, and deployments.
- Troubleshoot complex application and production issues.
- Develop secure, scalable, maintainable, and reusable application components.
- Work within Agile and DevOps environments utilizing modern CI/CD practices.
- Collaborate across engineering, architecture, QA, product, and business teams.
- Evaluate and incorporate AI/Generative AI capabilities and AI-assisted development practices where appropriate.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other developers.
Technical Qualifications
- Strong professional development experience with Java and modern Java frameworks such as Spring/Spring Boot.
- Strong Angular and TypeScript/JavaScript development experience.
- Experience with Python.
- Experience developing and deploying applications in AWS, Azure, or another major cloud platform.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, microservices, and distributed application architectures.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern DevOps practices.
- Strong understanding of modern UX/UI and responsive web development principles.
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
- Understanding of application security, performance, scalability, and maintainability.
Preferred / Differentiating Experience
- Experience building or integrating Generative AI/LLM capabilities into enterprise applications.
- Exposure to RAG, prompt engineering, AI agents/workflows, vector search/databases, or LLM APIs.
- Experience with cloud-native architecture, containers, Kubernetes, and serverless technologies.
- Experience modernizing legacy applications into cloud-native architectures.
- Healthcare or health insurance industry experience.
- Experience working within a large enterprise technology organization.
