About the role

Our client, a rapidly growing global technology company and a leading independent platform serving the digital advertising ecosystem is seeking a Senior Accountant, SEC Reporting & Equity to join the corporate accounting team. Reporting to the Associate Manager of SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting, this position will focus heavily on stock-based compensation, equity accounting, SEC reporting, and related disclosures .

The ideal candidate is technically strong, highly analytical, and comfortable working cross-functionally with Accounting, Tax, Legal, SOX, People Operations, Investor Relations, and Financial Planning & Analysis.

Compensation: $115k to $140k base + Equity/RSUs & Comprehensive Benefits Package

Location : Ventura, CA - hybrid work schedule

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage monthly accounting and reporting activities related to stock-based compensation (SBC) and equity plans , including journal entries and variance analysis.
  • Prepare reconciliations for equity-related general ledger accounts.
  • Prepare SBC and equity disclosures for quarterly and annual SEC filings.
  • Support executive and director equity disclosures included in proxy statements.
  • Prepare equity-related reporting packages for management.
  • Coordinate with external auditors on quarterly reviews and annual audit matters related to equity and SBC.
  • Prepare documentation and support SOX compliance activities related to equity accounting.
  • Assist with technical accounting research and preparation of preliminary conclusions, primarily related to equity.
  • Support IFRS reporting related to stock-based compensation.
  • Assist with SEC reporting activities, including 10-Q and 10-K tie-outs, earnings releases, and earnings scripts.
  • Partner with the SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting teams on special projects and ad hoc requests.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that increase the efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of equity accounting and reporting processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience ; public accounting/audit experience with a Big 4 or large national firm is preferred.
  • Experience with public-company accounting and financial reporting .
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements .
  • Knowledge of stock-based compensation accounting under ASC 718 preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with Workiva and/or equity administration platforms is preferred.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Experience within a public technology company is a plus.
