The Security Threat Group (STG) Coordinator provides supervision and coordination for the facility security threat group program. Identifies and monitors offender groups and members who pose a potential threat to staff, inmates, the facility or the community. Directs team members and/or assists in gathering intelligence, maintaining documentation and disseminating required intelligence information to appropriate partner or law enforcement agencies.

  • Enforce zero-tolerance for STG activity within facility, and assists in maintaining the safety and security of the facility through sound correctional practices.
  • Manage work assignments and directs staff in performing duties consistent with policy and procedure.
  • Responsible for oversight of the STG electronic database and timely dissemination of required intelligence information.
  • Review daily roster of STG members and monitors STG activity of validated members and suspects at the facility.
  • Conduct investigations of STG related incidents or STG activity. Gather information and evidence, in addition to interviewing and obtaining witness statements. Share intelligence information with authorized parties.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma, GED certification or equivalent is required.
  • Three years of experience in a criminal justice field is required.
  • One year of corrections experience, including the care and custody of inmates/offenders is required.
  • One year of experience in a supervisory capacity is preferred.
  • Additional education in criminal justice or a related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis up to one year.
  • No substitution for the required corrections experience.
  • Prior experience with investigative processes and interviewing techniques is preferred.
  • Specific contracts may require completing training, maintaining certification and the ability to carry firearms or chemical agents.
  • Experience with video/audio surveillance equipment preferred.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of general correctional rules and regulations.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office or other similar software applications is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Minimum Age Requirement: Must be at least 21 years of age.
