About the role
Duties
•Evaluates field level vulnerability assessments and other security related assignments.
•Implements DOD and DeCA security policies, programs and procedures.
•Reviews the implementation of loss prevention programs at the operational level.
•Reviews incident and audit reports to determine trends and patterns.
•Conducts studies to determine weaknesses or irregularities in DeCA accounting procedures.
•Researches and recommends the use of complex, state of the art protective systems and devices.
•Knowledge of DoD insider threat and security programs and policies in accordance with security principles, practices, techniques, regulations, and standards.
Qualifications
In accordance with the Group Coverage Qualifications Standards for Administrative and Management Positions https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/#url=GS-ADMIN, applicants applying at the GS-12 grade level must possess one year of specialized experience at the GS-11 level by the closing date of this announcement. Specialized experience may not be substituted with education at this grade level.
Examples of specialized experience include: Conducting vulnerability assessments and security program reviews to improve the protection of facilities of responsibility. Providing security related technical advice, guidance and assistance. Collecting statistics and recommending corrective action on aspects of agency security programs. Reviewing operational instructions pertinent to all aspects of retail security programs to include DeCA antiterrorism (AT), Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and High Yield Explosive (CBRNE), Operational Security (OPSEC) and Personnel Security (PERSEC).
