Security Manager

About This Role

This role involves overseeing the entire security department, focusing on protecting the hotel's property, guests, and staff, as well as their belongings. It suits a manager with a strong background in hospitality security who can lead and respond effectively to various situations.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a high standard of security awareness for the safety and well-being of all hotel guests and staff
• Effectively plan, coordinate, and manage the hotel’s security activities
• Review security measures implemented in the hotel on a regular basis, and improve these measures to tighten up the hotel's security
• Liaise with government authorities and the Police on matters pertaining to hotel security issues
• Be responsible for all emergency situations and evacuations
• Work closely with the Engineering department to carry out periodic training drills and administer fire safety standards
• Conduct regular security risk assessments and implement corrective measures to mitigate identified vulnerabilities
• Respond to and investigate security incidents, breaches, and emergency situations in a timely and professional manner
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and security legislation

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience within the hospitality industry
• Professional certification in security management or equivalent qualification
• Sound judgment and the ability to make quick, informed decisions in high-pressure situations
