Security Manager

About This Role

This night-shift post on the cardiac ward pairs patient care with mentoring new nurses. The Security Manager will oversee all hotel safety, security, fire-life safety, and loss-prevention operations, ensuring compliance with Hyatt standards and Nigerian regulations. The role focuses on protecting guests, staff, and assets while upholding high guest-service standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage 24/7 security operations, including patrols, CCTV monitoring, access control, and key control
• Protect hotel assets, manage investigations, and maintain incident reports and evidence
• Lead emergency response, evacuation drills, and crisis management
• Ensure fire systems are maintained and coordinate inspections with Lagos State/Federal Fire Service
• Verify all contract security guards/companies are NSCDC licensed
• Maintain fire safety logs and compliance with the Fire Service Act
• Ensure staff rostering and working hours comply with the Nigeria Labour Act
• Recruit, train, and supervise security officers and contract guards
• Run regular security and fire-safety training for all hotel departments
• Provide visible, professional security presence
• Coordinate security for VIPs, weddings, conferences, and high-profile events
• Submit monthly security reports and quarterly risk assessments to hotel leadership
• Maintain complete records: CCTV logs, key-control logs, drill logs, and incident files

Requirements

• Minimum of 5–8 years of experience in security operations, preferably in hospitality or a similar environment
• Previous managerial experience required
• Strong knowledge of security systems, emergency procedures, and risk management
• Good communication and leadership skills
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle emergencies effectively
• Knowledge of local laws and regulations related to safety and security
