Security Guard (Security and Law Enforcement Dispatcher) (MPP-AR)

Duties

Duties include a broad range of communications, physical and electronic security, clerical, computer skill, and emergency management duties, such as:

• Protecting the facilities from hazards such as sabotage, espionage, trespass, theft, fire and accidental or willful damage and destruction, including controlling access to restricted areas.
• Serving as the frontline in detection and assessment of intrusions into highly secured areas.
• Monitoring the Electronic Access Control and Surveillance System (EACSS), CCTV cameras, and ground-based radar for monitoring and protection of Hoover, Davis, and Parker Dams.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for the GS-06 grade level, your resume must reflect one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in Federal service.

Specialized Experience: Experience such as work with a Federal, State, municipal, local, or private protection organization that involved the protection of property against such hazards as fire, theft, damage, accident, or trespass; or maintaining order and protecting life. Such experience must have provided a knowledge of protective systems and techniques. Acceptable experience includes service in the Armed Services or Coast Guard that involved the performance of guard duties on a regular or intermittent basis.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
