About This Role
This overnight hotel security guard position is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for hotel guests, employees, and properties in downtown Spokane. The role suits a dependable, professional, and observant individual with strong communication skills and excellent judgment, who can handle challenging situations calmly and professionally.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine security patrols of four downtown hotel properties, including interior and exterior areas, parking lots, stairwells, hallways, and common spaces
- Monitor properties for suspicious activity, unauthorized individuals, safety hazards, and potential security concerns
- Respond promptly and professionally to disturbances, noise complaints, trespassing concerns, and other security incidents
- Assist hotel front desk employees with challenging guest interactions and security-related concerns
- Provide escorts for employees and guests when necessary to ensure their safety
- Assist with overnight front desk coverage and guest service duties as needed
- Monitor and enforce hotel policies regarding unauthorized visitors, property access, and guest conduct
- Document security incidents, unusual activity, and safety concerns in detailed written reports
- Contact law enforcement, emergency medical services, or management when appropriate
- Maintain regular communication with hotel management and front desk personnel
- Ensure doors, entrances, and restricted areas are properly secured
- Maintain a professional and courteous presence while representing the Company
Requirements
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, hospitality, or a related field preferred
- Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful or confrontational situations
- Strong observational, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Must be dependable, punctual, and available to work assigned overnight shifts
- Ability to walk, stand, and patrol multiple properties throughout the shift
- Basic computer skills for incident reporting and communication
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
