Seasonal Cashier

About This Role

The Seasonal Cashier role at Burlington Stores, Inc. is a full-time, on-site position. In this role, the cashier greets customers, processes purchases accurately, and handles cash, card, and digital payments while following all loss prevention and safety procedures. The role requires flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to support peak seasonal traffic.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers
• Process purchases accurately
• Handle cash, card, and digital payments while following all loss prevention and safety procedures
• Operate the point-of-sale system
• Bag merchandise
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area
• Assist customers with questions, returns, and exchanges
• Help with basic merchandising tasks near the front of the store, such as restocking impulse items and maintaining signage

Requirements

• Customer service and communication skills to provide a friendly, efficient checkout experience and assist customers with questions or concerns
• Basic math and cash-handling skills for accurately processing transactions, making change, and balancing the register
• Point-of-sale (POS) operation and retail environment familiarity, including scanning items, applying discounts, and following loss prevention procedures
• Time management and multitasking abilities to handle lines, maintain a tidy work area, and support front-end merchandising during busy periods
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move merchandise as needed, and follow store safety guidelines
• Collaborative attitude and reliability, with openness to feedback and willingness to support team members across different front-end tasks
• Availability to work a flexible full-time seasonal schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
