About the role

Role & responsibilities

  • Review business and technical requirements to ensure they are clear, complete, and testable.
  • Prepare test plans, test scenarios, and test cases based on project requirements.
  • Execute functional, integration, system, regression, and user acceptance testing as required.
  • Identify, document, track, and verify software defects through to closure.
  • Ensure defects are properly prioritized and communicated to the relevant development teams.
  • Validate fixes and perform regression testing to ensure existing functionality is not impacted.
  • Maintain accurate testing documentation, reports, and quality records.
  • Monitor testing progress, defect status, and overall product quality.
  • Identify potential quality risks and recommend appropriate preventive or corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with defined QA processes, standards, and procedures.
  • Support release activities by providing testing status, quality metrics, and release recommendations.
  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, project managers, and other stakeholders to resolve quality issues.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes, tools, and quality practices.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance or software testing.
  • Strong knowledge of SDLC, STLC, and software testing methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience in functional, integration, regression, system, and UAT testing.
  • Good knowledge of test case preparation, test execution, defect tracking, and reporting.
  • Experience with tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar QA/defect-management tools.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL and database validation is preferred.
  • Experience in API testing or test automation is an added advantage.
  • Good analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively within a cross-functional team.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.
  • Strong commitment to quality, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
