Screenwriter - Short Vertical Fictions (Drama, Comedy, Romance)

About This Role

This role is for a screenwriter to create short vertical fictions for content platforms like ReelShort and DramaBox, as well as the company's own networks. It involves writing short episodes (1-3 minutes) designed for mobile vertical viewing, with cliffhangers at the end of each episode to encourage continued watching. The role suits a writer who can adapt to various genres while maintaining a fast pace and incorporating twists and tension.

Responsibilities

• Develop original series concepts across different genres (drama, comedy, romance, thriller)
• Build a clear narrative bible: characters, stakes, overall arc, and evolution across all episodes
• Divide the story into short episodes with effective cliffhangers at the end of each
• Write impactful, natural, and immediately screen-readable dialogues
• Adapt tone and narrative codes to each genre while maintaining a sustained pace, specific to the vertical format
• Deliver a regular volume of 30 episodes per month

Requirements

• Experience in fiction writing (screenplay, series, short or long format) – screenplay training or equivalent experience
• Excellent command of narrative construction and sense of rhythm, especially for short and addictive formats
• Ability to write in multiple genres and adapt to different tones (drama, comedy, romance)
• Good understanding of vertical fiction platform codes (or strong interest in the format, if direct experience is lacking)
• Autonomy and ability to produce a sustained volume without loss of quality

Nice to have:

• Specific experience in vertical fiction / micro-drama (ReelShort, DramaBox, ShortMax or equivalent)
• Knowledge of popular genre tropes (secret identity, arranged marriage, revenge, incognito billionaire)
• Experience in writing for social networks or YouTube Shorts/TikTok format

Application Process

• Attach a writing sample (screenplay, developed synopsis, or sample episode) if possible in a short or vertical format
