Bilingual German Technical Writer – Electronics & Energy
We are looking for an experienced German-English Bilingual Technical Writer with a strong background in electronics, electrical engineering, energy, or related technical domains to support the creation, adaptation, and management of technical content for leading manufacturing clients.
The role involves working with complex technical information and transforming it into clear, accurate, well-structured documentation suitable for multilingual and cross-media publishing.
You will work with structured content and Component Content Management Systems (CCMS), supporting content production and publication across multiple formats and channels.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, edit, review, and adapt technical and scientific content related to electronics, electrical systems, energy, and manufacturing.
- Translate or localize technical content between German and English , ensuring technical accuracy, terminology consistency, and appropriate language for the target audience.
- Work with technical source material including product documentation, specifications, manuals, engineering information, and other technical content.
- Structure and organize content for multilingual and cross-media publishing .
- Work within CCMS / structured authoring environments to create, manage, and maintain reusable content components.
- Work with tools such as Author-it and Schema ST4 for structured content creation and content management.
- Ensure content follows defined technical writing, terminology, formatting, and style guidelines .
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Technical Communication, Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Energy, Physics, or a related field .
- Native or near-native German proficiency and strong professional English proficiency.
- Proven experience as a Technical Writer, Scientific Writer, Technical Editor, Documentation Specialist, or Technical Communicator .
- Strong subject-matter knowledge in one or more of the following:
- Electronics
- Electrical Engineering
- Energy / Power Systems
- Industrial Technology
- Manufacturing
- Automation / Control Systems
- Semiconductor or related technologies
- Experience working with structured technical documentation or XML-based content .
- Familiarity with CCMS platforms and structured authoring .
- Experience with Author-it and/or Schema ST4 is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of technical terminology and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency across large volumes of technical content.
