Science Teacher

About This Role

Teaching Science to students in Years 9 and 10 is the core of this role within the Science department of a K-12 coeducational school. This position suits an experienced and enthusiastic educator who is passionate about inspiring young minds and dedicated to delivering high-quality science education.

Responsibilities

• Teach Science across Year 9 and 10
• Assess students and create tailored learning plans; use ongoing assessments to support learning
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons; contribute to curriculum and resource development
• Track progress, give feedback, and provide extra support; submit reports on time
• Create an inclusive, supportive classroom; set high expectations for participation
• Improve teaching methods using feedback and data; engage in professional development and teamwork

Requirements

• Current VIT
• First-Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications
• Child Safety training (Mandatory Reporting Certificate)
• Excellent subject knowledge
• Strong communication skills
• Genuine passion for inspiring young minds
• Eligible to work in Australia

Important Details

• Schedule: 0.6 FTE
• Contract: maximum term position, commencing at the start of Term 4 for the remainder of the 2026 academic year, with potential to extend into 2027
