About This Role

This Environmental Technologist role involves assisting with multiple environmental projects, working closely with a multi-disciplinary team, regulatory agencies, and clients. The position is suited for an individual who is comfortable taking ownership of their responsibilities and contributing to environmental compliance efforts.

Responsibilities

• Follow Onterris' health and safety procedures and policies
• Support environmental field programs including groundwater sampling, soil sampling, drilling investigations, and remediation projects to support environmental compliance at industrial, commercial, and institutional sites
• Coordinate field activities, equipment, subcontractors, and project logistics to ensure efficient project delivery
• Contribute to technical reports, field documentation, and project records to inform environmental decisions

Requirements

• Technical diploma or Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Technology, or a related discipline
• 1 – 3 years of related experience
• Ability to travel around the Greater Toronto Area and beyond, as required
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate field notes and project documentation
• Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within a matrix reporting structure
• A valid G driver's license with no restrictions

Nice to have:

• Experience with soil and groundwater sampling

Important Details

• Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Sitting, standing, and walking; Lifting 50 pounds several times a day; Overhead lifting of over 20 pounds; Often works outdoors and may be exposed to hot and cold environments and extreme weather conditions, including sunlit, rainy and windy conditions
