About the role
Vassalboro Community School is searching for a dedicated, team oriented School Social Worker.
The Successful Candidate Will
- Assist in fostering a safe, welcoming and inclusive school environment through proactive, preventative practices in our Behavioral and Life Skills programs.
- Maintain accurate documentation and meet district, state and federal requirements.
- Support initiatives that promote positive student behavior.
- Assist in the development and implementation of student support plans and IEP goals.
- Provide crisis intervention and support when called upon.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, staff, families and community providers.
Required Qualifications
- Strong communication, collaboration and organizational skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, families and school personnel
- Experience providing evidence-based social emotional and behavioral interventions
- Knowledge of child and adolescent development, trauma-informed practices and positive behavioral interventions
- Understand/be willing to learn Maine Care billing and provide Ed-Tech supervision (coaching) as required by Maine Care.
