School Counselor

Supporting students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development is the core of this role, fostering a positive learning environment within the educational community. The School Counselor will help students navigate challenges, develop essential life skills, and achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling sessions focused on academic success, behavioral health, mental health counseling, and personal development
• Develop and implement behavioral management strategies to promote positive student behavior and conflict resolution
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and staff to create tailored intervention plans that address each student’s unique needs
• Assist in crisis intervention and provide guidance on child welfare issues, ensuring a safe and supportive school environment

Requirements

• Master's degree in School Counseling with a current license and certification
• Minimum two years experience working with children in a school setting
• Strong communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and teachers
• Knowledge of behavior management techniques and conflict management strategies
• Familiarity with child protective services protocols
• Experience in individual and group counseling
• Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy while maintaining confidentiality
