School Counselor

About This Role

This school counselor role focuses on providing individual and small group counseling to Title I eligible students in nonpublic schools. The services address school-related issues and aim to promote enhanced school functioning, with consultation with parents and school personnel.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and small group counseling to students with signed parental consent, focusing on academic, emotional, behavioral, or developmental issues
• Consult with parents, classroom teachers, school principal, and other school personnel to maximize effectiveness of services
• Participate in supervision on a regular basis with the Program Coordinator
• Complete all required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner
• Keep abreast of current changes and trends in the field of school counseling
• Be knowledgeable concerning all rules and procedures established by the Company Counseling Policy and Procedure Manual, the funding source, and the individual school
• When requested and appropriate to a specific contract, perform learning assessments to examine learning styles, strengths, and weaknesses of a student
• Serve as a resource consultant to parents and school personnel in locating community services to help meet the needs of individual students or families
• Be able to work with K-9th grade students

Requirements

• Master's degree or higher
• Licensed counselor for grades K-9
• School Counseling Certification
• 1 year of school counseling experience (Preferred)
