About This Role
Being a school bus driver involves safely transporting pupils to and from school, maintaining discipline on the bus, and ensuring the vehicle is in good working condition. This role suits an experienced, safety-conscious, and responsible individual.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport pupils to and from school according to approved schedules and routes
- Pick up and drop off pupils at designated locations and ensure they are handed over safely
- Maintain discipline and safety standards while pupils are on the bus
- Conduct routine checks on the bus before and after every trip
- Monitor fuel, vehicle condition, and maintenance requirements
- Keep the school bus clean and in good working condition
- Comply with traffic laws, school policies, and road safety regulations
- Report mechanical faults, accidents, delays, or other incidents promptly to management
- Maintain accurate trip records and report any concerns involving pupils or vehicle operations
- Exercise patience, alertness, and professionalism at all times
Requirements
- Minimum of OND from a recognized institution
- Previous work experience as a School Bus Driver
- Valid driver's license appropriate for the vehicle being driven
- Good knowledge of Lagos roads, particularly Ago Palace Way and surrounding areas
- Demonstrable safe driving habits and a good driving record
- Ability to interact respectfully with pupils, parents, teachers, and school management
- Must be punctual, patient, disciplined, honest, and safety-conscious
- Basic knowledge of vehicle inspection and maintenance
- Medically fit and available to resume immediately
