About This Role
This casual school bus driver position involves transporting students for after-school activities and during travel periods, including airport pickups and drop-offs. The role suits a multi-skilled individual who enjoys working with students of all ages and backgrounds.
Responsibilities
- Safely drive students to various school activities and field trips as needed
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspection reports, reporting to the Transportation Supervisor when concerns arise
- Comply with all school and government regulations, laws and policies and good safety practices
- Regularly communicate with the Transportation Team and attend meetings as required
- Check the condition of all Brookes vehicles and report any issues to maintenance
- Maintain your class 4 driver's license and drive Brookes vehicles as needed
- Thoroughly clean all Brookes vehicles (6 in total) weekly and perform daily cleaning upkeep of vehicles
Requirements
- Ability to lift items up to 50 lbs
- Able to perform manual tasks and physical demands as required within the duties such as periods of standing, assisting with luggage, lifting, bending, and twisting
- Motivated and takes pleasure in doing well on the job
- Punctual, reliable and versatile
- Positive with a caring attitude
- Can work cooperatively and with minimal supervision
- Communicates clearly and respectfully with parents, school staff, students and the general public in a courteous, professional manner
- Flexible and adaptable to changing deadlines and priorities
- Trustworthy and maintain confidentiality
- Required to complete and successfully pass a Ministry Criminal Record check for working with vulnerable adults and children
- Must hold a current BC Class 4 or Class 2 Driver's License
- Required to provide an annual driver's abstract
- WHMIS certification
Nice to have:
- Standard First Aid with CPR (C) (if you do not have this, you will be required to take this upon acceptance of the job)

Important Details
- Schedule: Monday-Friday generally 3:00pm to 6:00pm with the exception of picking up and dropping off students from the airport during travel periods; potential for hours during the day dependent on appointments/field trips; no hours over winter break, spring break and summer holidays as school is not in session
