About the role
Sylvan Learning Center is looking for fun, dedicated teachers to help and inspire students. We are currently looking for teachers who are able to teach SAT and ACT strategies using our proven Sylvan curriculum to prepare high school students with taking college entrance exams.
Sylvan creates individualized learning plans for students of all abilities. SAT/ACT students are either working on a customized plan 1:1 or are taught in a small classroom setting using our Sylvan curriculum. There is no lesson plan to create, no homework to grade, no parent-conferencing, and scheduling is flexible. Enjoy all of the benefits of teaching, without any of the downsides!
What you should know:
- You will use pre-planned lessons. They are straightforward, easy to manage, and fun to teach.
- Most teachers choose to work 2-5 days/week
- We are open for instruction weekday afternoons/evenings and Saturday mornings.
- This is NOT a remote position
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree required, Teaching Credential required. Knowledge of SAT/ACT requirements, experience in tutoring for SAT/ACT a plus
- You must enjoy teaching, working, and inspiring students.
- Being punctual is extremely important. You must be local and have reliable transportation.
