Sanitation Team Member Cleaner, Housekeeping, Custodial

About This Role

This role involves maintaining the general cleanliness and safety of the store, including seating areas, restrooms, back offices, and the sales floor. The Sanitation Team Member supports all teams with cleaning projects and helps with cleaning emergencies, ensuring a positive company image through courteous service.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent maintenance service
• Perform all duties on the daily and weekly maintenance lists
• Support all teams with cleaning projects
• Perform minor repairs and improvements
• Participate in ordering supplies required for store maintenance
• Help with cleaning emergencies
• Help maintain the store’s landscaping and parking lot
• Perform continual cleaning of all store departments
• Arrive at work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
• Work all scheduled shifts and attend required trainings and meetings
• Immediately report safety hazards and violations
• Perform other duties as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership

• Demonstrate a passion for cleanliness
• Strong to excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team

• Ability to deliver information in a clear and respectable manner to fellow Team Members, customers, and vendors
• Ability to follow directions and procedures; effective time management and organization skills
• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency
• Understanding of and compliance with WFM quality goals
• No prior retail experience required
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• In an 8-hour work day: standing/walking 6-8 hours
• Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
• Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching
• Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
• Exposure to temperatures: 90 degrees Fahrenheit
• Ability to work in a wet and cold environment
• Ability to use tools and equipment, including box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
