Sales Representative, Higher Education

About This Role

This Sales Representative role focuses on building relationships with university professors, faculty, and bookstore managers in British Columbia. The core responsibility involves presenting Macmillan Learning's course materials and software as options for their courses, managing accounts, and collaborating with internal teams to support the territory.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct daily sales calls and on-campus visits across your assigned BC territory
• Meet with faculty and bookstore managers to learn about their courses/courses offered and demo software
• Manage customer information, sales opportunities, and pipeline through the CRM
• Respond promptly to customer and internal requests by phone or email
• Plan travel itineraries to make effective use of time across your territory
• Submit regular sales tracking and expense reports, and share feedback on market trends and competitor activity

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in direct sales
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a sales team
• Strong communication skills and comfort working in a self-starting environment
• Valid driver's license and the ability to travel regularly within your territory, including overnight trips
• Proficiency with computers and standard business software
• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience

Important Details

• Travel: up to 40% of the time, including overnight trips to Vancouver Island and the BC interior
• Physical requirements: requires periods of close concentration, must be able to multi-task, concentrate in an open office work environment, must be able to work more than 40 hours per week as needed
