About the role
Objective
The Sales Ops Insight, Deputy Manager plays a key role in driving commercial performance by turning sales and operational data into clear insights, actionable dashboards, and practical recommendations. This role partners closely with Sales and Operations teams to support store performance, stock planning, staff incentives, and local marketing activities, while leading and coaching a team of analysts towards a common business direction.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Performance & Analytics
- Analyse sales performance across stores, channels, and regions to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
- Deliver commercial insights and actions related to it to support sales strategies, targets, and decision‑making.
- Prepare and present weekly, monthly, and management reports with clear business narratives.
- Prepare reports or presentation decks for key divisional & department meetings
- Power BI Dashboard Development
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards for sales, KPIs, and operational performance.
- Translate business requirements into user‑friendly, visually effective dashboards for management and operations teams.
- Standardise KPI definitions, data logic, and reporting structures to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Continuously improve and automate dashboards to enhance efficiency and data accessibility.
- Stock & Store Operations Support
- Support stock planning and analysis for existing stores, new store openings, refits, and store closures.
- Monitor stock health and performance to support optimal inventory levels and sell‑through.
- Provide insights on store performance against sales and stock targets.
- Store Incentives
- Analyse and manage store staff incentive performance, ensuring alignment with sales objectives.
- Partner with Sales and Operations teams to assess the effectiveness of incentive schemes and store‑level initiatives.
- Local Store Marketing Support
- Support local store marketing activities by tracking performance and conducting post‑campaign analysis.
- Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and mentor team members to deliver high‑quality analytics and reporting.
- Ensure team outputs are accurate, consistent, and commercially relevant.
- Foster a strong data‑driven and performance‑focused culture within the team.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Sales, Operations, Finance, and IT teams to support business initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement in reporting processes and analytical practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Business, or related fields.
- 4-6 years of experience in sales analytics / business intelligence, preferably within retail or FMCG.
- Strong hands on experience in Power BI, with solid knowledge of data modelling and dashboard design.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Good understanding of sales KPIs, stock management, store operations, and incentive structures.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercially minded, detail oriented, and comfortable working in a fast paced retail environment.
- Strong understanding and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Experience with SQL, PowerBI, DAX, M, PowerPivot preferred
- Able to work under minimum supervision and extensive travelling is required.
