Safety Director

About This Role

This Safety Director role provides leadership across multiple construction projects for a large electrical contractor. The position involves mentoring field safety personnel, supporting safety culture development, conducting audits and observations, and collaborating with operations leadership to enhance company-wide safety performance.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety leadership and support across multiple active construction projects
• Coach, mentor, and develop project teams and field safety personnel
• Conduct jobsite audits, inspections, observations, and hazard assessments
• Support the development and enhancement of company safety programs and initiatives
• Drive safety culture improvement efforts throughout the organization
• Work directly with project managers, superintendents, and company leadership
• Monitor project safety performance and compliance with company standards
• Lead incident investigations and corrective action implementation
• Support employee training and workforce development initiatives
• Review project safety documentation, plans, and compliance requirements
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in safety performance
• Promote a proactive and accountable safety culture throughout operations

Requirements

• OSHA 500 or OSHA 510 Certification with 5-10 years of safety experience
• OR CHST Certification with a minimum of 5 years of safety experience
• OR Bachelor's or Master's Degree with 5-10 years of safety experience
• Strong leadership and coaching abilities
• Proven safety culture development experience
• Experience conducting audits, inspections, and hazard assessments
• Strong knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards
• Working knowledge of Electrical Construction Safety
• Working knowledge of Safety Leadership Culture Development
• Working knowledge of Multi-Project Safety Oversight
• Working knowledge of Incident Investigation Root Cause Analysis
• Working knowledge of Contractor Safety Management
• Working knowledge of Safety Auditing Compliance Inspections
• Working knowledge of Hazard Recognition Risk Assessment
• Working knowledge of Employee Training Workforce Development
• Working knowledge of Corrective Action Management
• Working knowledge of Construction Risk Assessment Mitigation
• Working knowledge of Regulatory Compliance Management
• Working knowledge of Safety Program Development
