Ruby on Rails Fullstack Developer

About This Role

Maverick is looking for an experienced Ruby on Rails developer with a clear fullstack profile and a strong sense of modern frontend interfaces. You will work on consulting assignments for customers in both the private and public sectors, building scalable digital solutions from idea to implementation. This role involves developing, improving, and optimizing everything from existing systems to completely new products.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Rails applications
• Create modern and responsive frontend interfaces
• Design APIs
• Optimize performance and ensure robust and secure solutions
• Develop and further develop services for businesses in fintech, e-commerce, industry, transport, energy, and the public sector

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in Ruby on Rails development
• Confident in a fullstack role and good experience with modern frontend (e.g., JavaScript, SCSS, Stimulus, Turbo or similar)
• Experience with databases like PostgreSQL and technologies like Redis, ElasticSearch or similar
• Accustomed to working with CI/CD, testing, and version control
• Worked in agile teams and comfortable in a consulting role
• Communicates clearly in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing

Nice to have:

• Experience with cloud environments like AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Experience with Next.js, TypeScript, or modern component-based frontend
• Experience working in larger, complex codebases
• Interest in performance optimization, security, and architecture issues
