About This Role
This hands-on role involves building new features, improving existing systems, and troubleshooting production and customer issues within a fast-moving SaaS environment. The Full Stack Engineer will work across a mature Ruby on Rails application with Vue.js on the frontend, occasionally joining customer or partner calls for technical expertise. The role suits an engineer who takes ownership, communicates clearly, moves quickly when needed, and reliably delivers against agreed timelines.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain features across Ruby on Rails and Vue.js
- Help evolve the architecture, performance, scalability, and technical roadmap
- Work with APIs, integrations, background processing, multi-tenancy, and data modeling
- Refactor existing code and reduce technical debt where it makes sense
- Review pull requests and maintain a high standard for code quality
- Support AWS and Cloudflare infrastructure, monitoring, reliability, and incident response
- Partner with Product on feasibility, technical trade-offs, and build-vs-buy decisions
- Investigate technical support tickets and production issues as they come in
- Troubleshoot customer integrations, APIs, and unexpected platform behaviour
- Work with Support and Customer Success to identify root causes
- Join customer or partner calls when deeper technical input is needed
- Help turn recurring customer issues into product or reliability improvements
- Use AI effectively for coding, debugging, research, testing, and development
- Review, understand, and test AI-assisted code before shipping it
- Know when AI-generated solutions should be rewritten or discarded
- Use AI to move faster without sacrificing code quality, maintainability, or sound engineering judgment
- Take ownership of commitments and agreed timelines
- Communicate early when scope or complexity puts a deadline at risk
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift
- Balance speed, quality, and pragmatism
- Be comfortable moving between roadmap work, production issues, customer needs, and technical debt
Requirements
- Strong Ruby on Rails experience
- Experience with Vue.js or a similar modern JavaScript framework
- Strong understanding of relational databases, APIs, and web application architecture
- Comfortable troubleshooting production and performance issues
- Familiarity with AWS and cloud infrastructure
- Strong debugging, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable taking ownership of issues through resolution
