About This Role
Working carefully and keeping safety in mind, the Roofer installs, repairs, and maintains various roofing systems. Responsibilities
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to determine roofing specifications and installation procedures
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to cut, shape, and install roofing materials accurately
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, removing old roofing materials, and performing necessary masonry or carpentry work to ensure proper adhesion
- Install roofing systems including shingles, metal panels, membranes, or other specified materials following safety standards and project timelines
- Conduct heavy lifting of roofing materials and equipment safely while adhering to ergonomic practices
- Perform routine inspections and repairs on existing roofs to maintain integrity against weather elements
- Collaborate with team members on site to ensure efficient workflow and quality workmanship throughout each project
Requirements
- Proven construction experience with a focus on roofing projects or related trades such as carpentry, masonry, or plumbing
- Familiarity with schematics, technical drawings, and blueprints for accurate installation planning
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques necessary for roofing tasks
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining physical endurance for demanding workdays
- Knowledge of roofing materials, installation methods, safety protocols, and building codes is highly desirable
