Roadway Design Engineer

About This Role

This role is for a Roadway Design Engineer who will work on exciting and engaging projects, utilizing highway and roadway design expertise. The position involves leading teams on larger projects and collaborating directly with the Portland and WSDOT Olympic Region offices to solve complex transportation problems.

Responsibilities

• Utilize highway/roadway design expertise on projects
• Lead teams on larger projects
• Work directly with the Portland and WSDOT Olympic Region offices and their transportation team to solve complex problems
• Take a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions
• Identify applications of functional knowledge and existing methodologies to complex problems
• Deliver bold solutions for everyday living
• Lead functional teams or projects
• Serve as a best practice/quality resource

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• At least 5 years of experience in transportation work with an emphasis on roadway/highway and geometrics final design and/or Maintenance of Traffic and Traffic Control final design
• Professional Engineering license
• MicroStation/Inroads and Openroads background
• Experience with plans preparation, specifications, estimates and design documentation

Nice to have:

• Experience with multi-discipline infrastructure engineering design and construction projects
• ADA design experience
• Previous WA or OR Department of Transportation experience
