About the role
Willis-Knighton Pierremont is seeking an experienced RN for the position of Wound/Ostomy Nurse (WOCN). The WOCN provides high-level, evidence-based care in the areas of wound and ostomy care. The typical duties of the WOCN include serving as a care consultant and provider for patients with wounds and ostomies; providing assessments of patients and collaborating with the medical team to develop plans of care; providing wound and ostomy education to patients, their families, and staff; developing plans and protocols to reduce the incidence of hospital acquired pressure injuries; working with staff and quality officers to keep policies and procedures current; staying abreast of supplies and treatment trends regarding wound and ostomy care.
Requirements:
- Two years wound care experience preferred
- Graduate of Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nursing (WOCN) Educational Program with current WOCN specialty board certification OR pursuit of certification in WOCN, CWS, or WCC within the first year.
- Current Louisiana Nursing License
- BLS Provider Certification
- ACLS Provider Certification
Location: WK Pierremont - 10 · NS-Wound Ostomy
Schedule: Full-Time, Day, 8am-4:30pm
