RN - Registered Nurse - Critical Care Float

About This Role

This night-shift nursing role involves assessing, planning, organizing, performing, and evaluating nursing activities to meet patient needs in a critical care float capacity. It suits a compassionate Registered Nurse dedicated to promoting adaptive responses in patients and families, ensuring the highest level of patient care, safety, and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Complete assessments as established by scope of practice and unit standards
• Address physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patient and family throughout the continuum of care
• Formulate, coordinate, and provide plan of care as established in unit standards including patient and family education, family needs and discharge planning throughout hospitalization with members of the interdisciplinary team
• Provide direct patient care including treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies according to policy and procedure
• Evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions and revise plan of care based upon patient response to interventions
• Initiate collaboration with physicians, ancillary personnel, and other interdisciplinary team members and act to proactively resolve and facilitate patient needs
• Problem solve, troubleshoot and take corrective measures in the care and handling of equipment
• Participate in unit-based decision-making regarding the utilization of evidence-based practice
• Actively participate as a team member working toward team goals of the unit and organization and be accountable for unit and system specific metrics
• Actively participate in patient quality and safety education programs and other activities designed to improve departmental and organizational quality and safety

Requirements

• Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Nursing
• Licensed Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania)
• Basic Life Support Certification

Important Details

• Schedule: Nights, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, every other weekend and holiday
• Shift differential: $7 for evening, night, and weekend shifts; $5.00/hour Float Differential
• Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36
