Position Description: RN – Registered Charge Nurse - Surgical PCU

The Charge Nurse responsibilities include:

- Proficiency in the care of a sub-specialty group of patients utilizing effective managerial skills.
- Acting as a professional role model for other members of the nursing team.
- Professional accountability and development.
- Performing the role of preceptor and charge nurse.
- Acting as a mentor and resource expert.

- Qualifications:
- Certifications and Licensures:

- BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification is required
- RN (Registered Nurse) license is required
- ACLS Certification if required by department
- RN Professional Nurse Specialty Certification within 7 months of hire/promotion in lieu of education. Certification must be RN Professional, nationally recognized and applicable to the current primary area of practice on the approved Clinical Registered Nurse Certifications Grid.
- Nurse Specialty certification is preferred
- Education: Bachelors degree in Nursing, BS in a healthcare related field, or RN Professional Nurse Specialty Certification is required within 7 months of hire/promotion
- Experience:

- 2 years of RN experience is required

- 1 year of leadership experience is preferred
