Role Overview Provides unit-based leadership in a healthcare setting, collaborating with nursing staff, physicians, and management to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. Supervises and directs nursing and ancillary personnel, ensuring efficient operations, compliance with safety standards, and positive patient outcomes. Acts as a resource for staff, assesses staffing needs based on patient acuity, and manages schedules and performance evaluations. Participates in quality improvement initiatives, enforces safety protocols, and fosters a culturally sensitive environment. Maintains departmental safety and equipment, supports staff development, and ensures adherence to policies and standards.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (required); Master's preferred
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the practice state
- Supervisory experience and demonstrated leadership skills
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (required)
- Strong communication, clinical, and organizational skills
