Role Overview The staff nurse provides comprehensive nursing care to patients across the lifespan, utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care. They work within organizational policies and demonstrate professional growth and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate patient care activities and ensure adherence to quality standards
- Maintain practice standards and promote effective communication among staff
- Assess patient needs and implement appropriate nursing interventions
Qualifications & Skills
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Registered Nurse licensure in the relevant state and BCLS certification required
- Additional certifications may be required based on specialty area (e.g., ACLS, PALS, Chemotherapy/Biotherapy, NICU NRP)
- Experience in a hospital setting is preferred but not mandatory; new graduates are eligible
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills
Additional Requirements: Candidates may need to obtain specialty certifications within specified timeframes, depending on their clinical area, such as Cardiac Tele, Critical Care, Dialysis, Emergency Department, Oncology, Pediatrics, Surgical Services, or Women’s Services.
