RN – Med/Surg (Contract)
Location: California 95370 | Pay: $1,816–$2,041/week | Shift: 3rd 12 Night Shift | Hours: 36–48/week
Job Summary:
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for patients according to established standards and the nursing process.
- Supervise and direct assigned nursing staff.
- Coordinate care with other disciplines using critical thinking, professional discretion, and independent judgment.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) – preferred
- Acute care facility experience – preferred
Licenses & Certifications:
- RN licensure in California – required
- CPR/BLS (OR HS-BLS or RQI-BLS) – required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – required
Essential Functions:
- Collect and analyze patient data to determine diagnosis and care issues.
- Develop and implement nursing care plans to achieve outcomes.
- Coordinate care delivery and promote a safe, healing environment.
- Evaluate patient progress and adjust care plans accordingly.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
- Provide education to patients, families, and team members.
- Participate in discharge planning for continuity of care.
- Delegate and coordinate duties among healthcare team members.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Organizational Requirements:
- Required vaccinations per hospital policy.
- Unit: 50 beds (2 floors, 25 rooms each)
- Staffing ratios: 1:4 (telemetry), 1:5 (Med/Surg)
- Weekend coverage: 1 shift per pay period
- Medication system: Pyxis
- Documentation system: Cerner IV
- Teams: No-lift teams; pharmacy & phlebotomy 24/7; unit secretary 24/7
- Provider coverage: Intensivist & hospitalist 24/7
- Scrubs: Solid colors
