The Nurse Manager oversees the FMS Department, including LDRP, Nursery, antepartum, gynecology, and outpatient testing units. They supervise staff, interpret policies, and perform various nursing duties as needed. The manager maintains public relations through teaching, civic engagement, and public speaking, ensuring quality patient care and unit operations.
Qualifications & Skills
A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and at least 5 years of nursing experience are required. Candidates should have knowledge of current nursing practices, project management, fiscal management, and emergency nursing. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop personnel are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Determine and implement nursing philosophies, formulate care standards, and maintain policies. Manage staffing, supplies, and facilities. Conduct staff interviews, evaluations, and disciplinary actions. Forecast unit needs and adapt to evolving patient requirements. Review performance data, improve care quality, and coordinate with other departments. Conduct patient rounds, maintain records, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Prepare reports for administration and regulatory bodies. Manage within productivity allowances and support educational programs.
