RN – Level 2 ICU Stepdown (Contract) – New York (14642)

  • Location: New York, 14642

  • Pay Rate: $2,594 – $2,905 (weekly)

  • Schedule: 3x12s, Rotating Shifts (D/E/N)

    • Includes weekends, holidays, on-call, callback, and charge duties per unit needs
  • Unit: ICU Stepdown / Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Position Requirements:

  • Active New York State RN license (NY ONLY accepted)
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Stepdown/PCU experience required (must have)
  • Telemetry experience required
  • BLS (AHA only) required
  • ACLS preferred (AHA only)
  • NIHSS preferred
  • High-acuity stroke and neurosurgery experience required

Clinical Experience Required:

  • Q1 neuro checks
  • EVDs, lumbar drains, subdural drains
  • 3% saline and Cardene drips
  • Arterial lines
  • Carotid endarterectomy
  • Aneurysm coil/clips
  • DBS (Deep Brain Stimulator) procedures
  • VP shunts and seizure management

Role Overview:

  • Provide competent, evidence-based nursing care under established standards
  • May function in expanded roles including charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member
  • Participate in clinical practice, service excellence, and professional development initiatives
  • Deliver care to high-acuity patients with complex neurological and critical care needs
