About the role
The Inpatient Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) provides expert end-of-life care to patients admitted to the hospice inpatient unit. The RN delivers compassionate, patient-centered care focused on symptom management, comfort, and quality of life while supporting patients and families through the dying process.
Summary Independently plans and provides excellent professional nursing care for patients in accordance with physician orders, established departmental policies and procedures, American Nurses Association Standards of Clinical Practice, Indiana Nurse Practice Act, and the ANA Code of Ethics
Education Requires a Diploma in Nursing or an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Licensure/Certification Must provide current RN license by Indiana State Board of Nursing. Must have valid state driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance. Must have current CPR certification.
Experience Must have one year of experience in a patient care setting such as acute care or nursing home.
Other Qualifications Must have good verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to lift 50 pounds, assist with 100 pounds. Demonstrates working knowledge of computer systems. Must demonstrate competency in the delivery of patient care including competency based practice and age specific care.
