About the role
Job Summary The Registered Nurse I is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care. This role requires utilizing the nursing process in accordance with hospital standards and unit policies/procedures to monitor and evaluate patient functional status.
Job Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process to care for patients.
- Assess, organize, and complete patient care with consideration for patient age, cultural, and psychosocial factors.
- Document steps of the nursing process using proper medical terminology.
- Address problems and progress toward goals.
- Facilitate patient discharge through timely, appropriate referrals and utilization of patient education resources, suitable to patient age and cultural/psychosocial factors.
- Collaborate with other disciplines as appropriate.
- Support unit/hospital goals through PI and educational activities by attending in-services, meeting unit education standards, and completing variance reports.
- Exercise independent judgment in planning the sequence of operations and making minor decisions in a complex technical or professional field.
- Work directly with patients and/or customers.
- Engage with internal customers via telephone or face-to-face interaction.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and staff.
Required Skills & Experience
- Six (6) to twelve (12) months of RN experience. Entry-level applicants will not be considered.
- Working knowledge of general disease state management processes, bio-psychosocial model, and clinical pathways.
- Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner.
- Detail-oriented as required in the examination of clinical and numerical data.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Previous emergency room experience.
Schedule Notes
- Night shift: 7 PM - 7 AM
- Requires 1 year of experience in an emergency room, preferably in a Trauma 1 setting.
- Seeking a team player who can process instructions quickly and possesses a strong personality.
- Relocation bonus available for candidates with 1 year of experience and residing 71 miles away from the center, with a 2-year commitment.
