RN – Emergency Department – Methodist Southwest Medical Center

At Methodist Health System, our emergency department team is at the front line of patient-centered care — fast-paced, highly technical, and built on collaboration. As an RN in the ED, you will provide direct and indirect nursing care using the full nursing process, working alongside a multidisciplinary team to deliver age/developmentally appropriate care in a high-acuity environment.
You’ll bring clear communication, compassion, and accountability to every patient interaction, and you’ll be supported in building the relationships and skills that will help you grow professionally while contributing to a winning team at Methodist Southwest Medical Center.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As an RN in the emergency department, you will:
- Provide direct and indirect nursing care to assigned patients using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Direct and supervise other care team members and collaborate with multidisciplinary staff to deliver age/developmentally appropriate care.
- Communicate clearly with patients, families, and the care team, and confirm understanding of care instructions and updates.
- Create and maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for patients, self, and co-workers.
- Ensure complete, accurate, and timely documentation of patient information.
- Administer medications and IV therapies safely and accurately.
- Support patient and family education throughout the care process.
- Take initiative for your own performance, professional growth, and development.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing; BSN preferred.
- Current RN license to practice professional nursing in the state of Texas.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Additional certifications as required by the department.
- Minimum 12 months of RN experience, or completion of a Nurse Residency Program.
WORK SCHEDULE
- 12-hour shifts, night shift
- 3 days a week
