About the role
The Staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver responsible for managing patient care within their designated unit, utilizing the nursing process, technology, and resources to deliver high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Performing initial patient assessments and developing individualized care plans based on patient and family needs.
- Implementing and adjusting nursing interventions, documenting care accurately, and verifying physician orders.
- Ensuring patient and staff safety by reporting hazards and incidents.
- Communicating effectively with colleagues, patients, and families to foster a healing environment.
- Assisting with orientation, training, and supervision of new staff members.
- Ordering supplies, maintaining equipment, and managing medication and supply inventories.
- Proficiency in procedures such as airway management, central lines, lumbar punctures, and other emergency or specialized interventions.
- Completing incident reports and ensuring compliance with departmental standards.
Qualifications Include
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Illinois.
- Certifications in PALS (within 1 year), BLS (within 30 days), and ACLS (within 1 year) from the American Heart Association.
- College diploma in Nursing.
