Revenue Cycle Specialist

About This Role

The Revenue Cycle Specialist performs billing functions to enable and expedite collections, helping to improve cash flow and manage the overall health of the company's receivables. This role is crucial for maintaining financial stability within a residential treatment program for mental health and substance use disorders.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage manual billing activities for assigned facilities, including identifying and taking corrective action where needed to improve processes
• Provide excellent customer service with the ability to communicate to both insurance companies and families in the efforts of collecting outstanding balances
• Review client bills for accuracy and completeness and obtain any missing information
• Prepare, review, and transmit claims using billing software, including electronic and paper claim processing
• Utilize system reports to reconcile payments posted in practice management systems
• Work electronic insurance rejections to retransmit with corrected insurance information
• Monitor census daily to ensure completeness and accuracy
• Work rebills submitted to the billing department through the electronic billing system or payer source
• Re-bill and appeal claims based on payer rejections and denials
• Accurately post payments and adjustments
• Resolve issues that arise

Requirements

• 2 Year Degree
• Experienced level
