Retention Specialist

About This Role

The Retention Specialist supports student retention by monitoring student progress toward degree completion. This role collaborates with faculty, student support services, and students to enhance retention and graduation rates, focusing on the academic and social experience of students through a holistic approach.

Responsibilities

• Support student retention efforts
• Assist with monitoring the overall student population
• Work in collaboration with faculty, various student support services professionals and students to enhance retention and graduation rates

Requirements

• Strong interpersonal skills to allow effective communication with administrators, faculty and students
• Ability to write reports
• Strong computer skills
• Effective organizational skills and customer services skills
• Interest in working with a diverse population of students
• Master
• Minimum of two years of experience (3-5 years preferred) working with student retention and student success strategies at a college or university setting; or equivalent combination of training and experience

• Schedule: Occasional work may be required beyond normal working hours
