Retention Specialist

About This Role

Retaining existing clients by helping them navigate policy changes, premium increases, or expiring coverage is the core of this role. The Retention Specialist combines sales and customer service skills to re-market policies, present alternative coverage options, and identify opportunities to cross-sell additional products, all while strengthening client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with clients through inbound and outbound calls
• Review current policies
• Re-shop coverage with carrier partners
• Present solutions based on individual client needs
• Look for opportunities to strengthen client relationships through additional coverage and cross-selling
• Follow established workflows, scripts, and compliance standards
• Develop insurance knowledge and sales skills

Requirements

• Background in sales, customer service, insurance, or other client-facing work
• Comfortable having consultative conversations with customers
• Goal-driven
• Detail-oriented
• Able to balance a strong client experience with the ability to identify and close sales opportunities
• Experience with managing customer relationships
• Experience with CRM systems
• Team-oriented
• Problem-solving mentality

Nice to have:

• Property & Casualty Insurance License, or willingness to obtain one after hire (Goosehead covers the cost)
